WINES OF PROVENCE, THE COLORS OF HAPPINESS
SEA AND BLUE SKY, GOLDEN SUN, A GREEN SHOWCASE AND ROSÉ, RED AND WHITE WINES! SUCH IS THE CHROMATIC PALETTE OF AN IDEAL STAY IN THE LAND OF DREAMS.
The leading French rosé wine-producing region of Provence, boosted by perpetual qualitative research, has become in thirty years the undisputed reference for the French and International markets. The richness and diversity of the soils and grape varieties, the nearness of the Mediterranean Sea, the abundance of sunshine and the know-how of the winegrowers who have passionately cultivated the personality of their wines, have all contributed to the development of top-of-the-range rosés that are distinguished by "their freshness, finesse, fragrance and delicacy..." as Gilles Masson, director of the rosé wine experimentation and research centre created 10 years ago in Vidauban (Var), points out.
THE NUMBER ONE ROSÉ
Since 1990, the consumption of rosé wine has never ceased to grow in France – the world's leading producer and consumer country – but also throughout the world (USA, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom...) explains Brice Eymard, director of the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Provence (CIVP) "Until about ten years ago rosé was a very French product, whereas now it is developing a lot in North America, the United Kingdom and also in Australia... Provence rosé, synonymous with the art of living in the South, has become a real icon in the world..."
RED WINES WITH CHARACTER
World leader in rosé, the Provencal terroir produces a small volume of excellent red wines (about 7% of its production). You will discover wines that are both delicate and supple with aromas of red berries or flowers, full-bodied and generous vintages, aged for several months in oak barrels where their velvet and deep flavours will develop with age.
EXCEPTIONAL WHITES
In spite of a so-called confidential production (about 4 million bottles or 3% of the total production of Côtes de Provence), the white wine of Provence, with its remarkable aromatic finesse, is more and more appreciated by consumers. These "blanc de blanc" wines, vinified only from white grape varieties, Rolle (or vermentino), ugni blanc, clairette and semillon, offer a real aromatic explosion on the palate with their notes of citrus and fruity aromas.
